Homemade face masks – make them yourself!

Table of Contents

Homemade face masks moisturise, regenerate and cleanse. They are cheap and quick to prepare. Try a mask made of yeast, eggs, coffee, honey or milk.

Who of us has never experimented with homemade masks? Even if it is not a very complicated recipe. Surely, most of us at least once have tried a cucumber or honey mixture.

Homemade masks have an advantage over ready-made products! Firstly, they are made from only natural ingredients – you have control over what you add to them. Secondly, they are cheap – how much do yeast, yoghurt or linseed cost? It is good to apply homemade masks at least once a week, preferably interchangeably – once moisturising or nourishing and cleansing. Homemade yeast face mask

    Ingredients:

    • 1/4 cube of fresh yeast
    • 1 tablespoon of warm milk

Mix the ingredients and apply the resulting mixture in a thick layer on your face. After 20 minutes, wash it off with warm water. The yeast mask is recommended for acne-prone skin. It soothes irritations and has a good effect on acne scars. Depending on your skin type, you can add a drop of olive oil (if your skin is dry) or lemon juice (if you fight blemishes) to this basic recipe. The mask soothes irritations and inflammations, slightly dries the lesions, cleanses from impurities, softens and smooths the skin. Use it once a week.

    Homemade egg face mask

    Ingredients:

    • 1 egg yolk from a chicken egg

All you need to prepare the mask is a chicken yolk. Spread it on your face and after 20 minutes wash it off with lukewarm water. The egg yolk mask regenerates the skin, even if it is irritated and dry. Unsaturated fatty acids nourish the skin and treat skin complaints such as acne or eczema. The vitamins A, E, D and B vitamins found in egg yolk as well as phosphorus and potassium, nourish the skin intensively.

This mask is another proof that the simplest combinations are the best. Apply the prepared mixture on your face. After 20-30 minutes, wash it off with lukewarm water. Honey soothes irritation, moisturises, and maintains moisture levels throughout the day. Honey also has an antiseptic effect.

    Homemade avocado face mask

    Ingredients:

    • 1/2 avocado
    • 20 grams of oatmeal (2 tablespoons)
    • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
    • 2 tbsp honey
    • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Crush avocado halves with a fork and mix with remaining ingredients. After 20 minutes, rinse off with lukewarm water and apply your favourite face cream. The mask will moisturise your skin, soothe irritation and remove dead skin cells.

    Homemade flax seed face mask

    Ingredients:

    • 2 tablespoons of flaxseed
    • 1/4 cup of hot water

Pour hot water over ground flaxseed and set aside for several minutes. Apply this mixture on your face for 15 minutes. Such a mask will regenerate dried epidermis, thanks to the high content of vitamin E.
