It did note that butter significantly increased bad fat in comparison to coconut oil and olive oil. Coconut oil increased the good fat in comparison to both butter and olive oil.1

How to use coconut oil:
Apply a teaspoon amount of coconut oil or coconut oil combined with body butters onto the palm of your hands. This will melt these products and bring them to a watery consistency.
Gently massage the watery consistency product to your skin and affected area in circular motion.
Coconut oil can be very greasy depending on the amount you apply. So please allow at least 20 mins between the application and sleep. This way, the oil will not get onto your bedsheet or pillows.
