Body butter is very popular these days. This butteryness is packed with all the goodness you can imagine. It is nourishing, moisturizing and anti ageing. It’s moisturizing property prevents the skin from becoming dry for a long time therefore making it really good for eczema prone skin.
Intro
There are many different types of body butter like shea butter, mango butter, vanilla butter, cinnamon butter, cocoa butter. Cocoa Butter is made directly from cocoa seed, scent and a luxurious texture. Mango butter comes from mango seeds which is the mixture of extra vitamin C. As you can see these are all made from plants, seeds or derivatives. As it is a moisturizer, body butter is made out of mixing different types of butters with coconut oil.
Since they are so good in moisturizing and thereby hydrating the skin, the best time to apply is right after you have a bath or a shower. This is because your body is still keeping hold of the moisture and wetness so the body butter is easily able to blend into your skin pores. If you apply the butters directly to dry skin, the absorption rate may be lower as the butter doesn’t seep into the skin to its fullest.
Uses
There are many uses of body butter. Let’s have a look at some of the commonly used ones.
Use it as an all over body moisturizer! The best time is after your daily shower or bath when your skin is still moist. Apply a bit of butter using circular massaging strokes. Use the layering technique to add more and more body butter than using a lot from the beginning.
Strengthen your hair! Applying a natural body butter can be also used for dry and stressed hair as it will help to give life to dead and unhealthy hair. .
Make-up remover! You don’t want to use too much of the body butter for this. Just a tiny bit is enough as it will help to dissolve the makeup from your skin. You can also use it to remove waterproof mascara.
Use body butter on neglected areas like the neckline or even lips. Gently massage the neglected area for the good skin. Body butters remove dry patches on your elbow and knees.
Apply body butter on your hands and feet.
Body butters can be used to reduce stretch marks and scars.
How to use
How do you use body butter for tender looking, moisturized skin?
- Take a daily shower
- Pat your skin dry with clean cloth. Don’t completely dry yourself.
- Do not rub your skin harshly. Leave a little moisture on your skin
- Apply and massage in circular motions a small amount of body butter as required on the skin areas i.e elbows, hands, legs, knees, feet as well as the skin folds.
- Remember, it’s better to add the butter little by little than using a lot from the beginning. So you are going to be using the layering technique here.
- For the best result, apply the second layer on the affected areas after you see that the initial application has been absorbed by your skin. Your skin will not have the oily look once the body butter is absorbed.
- Try to apply it at night before sleeping as this will help to soften your skin.
- After applying, cover up with cotton socks or gloves or cotton clothing.
